If you’re considering a Bertazzoni gas range, you’re in the right place. This post reviews the Bertazzoni Master Series Gas Ranges and the Bertazzoni X304GGVX Professional Series as well. (I’ll explain the differences below.)

Warning

Before moving on, when considering these types of high-end ‘professional’ styles ranges (including the Bertazzoni X304GGVX and Master Series and Viking also), believe it or not, you should call your homeowner’s insurance agent. Because there are some policies that consider these ranges ‘commercial’, and if there’s fire, they will not cover you. You can easily get covered with a rider or amendment to the policy, but it’s not something you want to find out about when it’s too late, especially since we know insurance companies aren’t exactly kind.

Here’s a nice offer, by the way: 10% off AGA, Alfresco, Bertazzoni, Dacor, Weber, DCS, NXR, Elica, Perlick, ILVE, Fagor, Five Star, Fratelli Onofri, Lynx, OCIBertazzoni X304GGVX 30 Gas Range & Bertazzoni Master Series

Bertazzoni

Bertazzoni is a relative newcomer on the American consumer kitchen appliance scene. Bertazzoni’s are well-known in Europe, dominating many restaurants and cafes, and they’ve been in American restaurants for years as well, as they are considered to be the quintessential kitchen workhorse. These ranges are known to last ‘practically forever’. In fact, my uncle has a Bertazzoni in his restaurant, and he swears by it-and he’s had the range since he bought the restaurant 30 years ago!

Bertazzoni Master Series

The Bertazzoni Master Series are ‘professional style home’ ranges that have a distinctively masculine, business-like feel to them, especially in stainless. One look at them and your first thought is “this machine means business”. They also have a distinct retro feel to them, with their squared lines.

To prevent confusion, note that the Master Series serial numbers all begin with the letter “A”, as in the A304GGVX. The A Series are NOT available in colors, only in stainless.

Bertazzoni also manufactures the Professional Series, which begin with the letter “X”, as in the Bertazzoni X304GGVX line. The Bertazzoni X304GGVX IS available in colors. Confusing, I know. Compounding the confusion is that the Master Series also includes “professional style” in its marketing literature.

Further indicative of the professional origins of these ranges is an interesting twist in that the stainless versions are actually cheaper than the colored models (Bertazzoni X304GGVX)-which, if you’ve been shopping for ranges, you know is not the case at all with other brands. They REALLY mean business. (Although personally, I don’t care for the colored models. Something about it just doesn’t look right-can’t explain it, but I ‘know’ it when I see it. Of course, others might disagree!)

Essentially there are three different Bertazzoni Master Series models. There is the T Series, i.e., Bertazzoni Master Series: A304GGVXTNG, the S Series, i.e., the Bertazzoni Master Series: A304GGVXS, and the E Series.

The T and S series are practically the same-the only difference of note is in the appearance-with the T model you get the second handle at cooktop level, the S (and E) does not have it. This is a matter of styling/personal preference.

Both models are priced at $2949, no shipping, no taxes, free extended warranty at HomeEverything, where all of the links here go to. You might want to check them out-in addition, their site is very safe and they actually deliver on time, when promised.

The Bertazzoni Master series all have large, nice-looking round, professional-style knobs. All three Master series models come with 4 Sealed Burners and a 2.9 cu. ft. European Convection Oven.

All models have the high-performance dual-ring wok worktop burner for precise control from low simmer to high output. Professional-style pan supports in cast iron easily handle the largest cookware.

This wide gas range has a cooktop with four burners including a high-performance dual-ring wok worktop burner giving low simmer to high output.

The oven with gas broiler has a balanced air-flow fan to provide even heat distribution for single and multi-level roasting and baking. The triple-glass door minimises heat loss.

E Class Bertazzoni Master Series

The Bertazzoni  A304GGVXE is the ‘entry level’ Bertazzoni 30″ gas range, (currently at $2,299, no shipping, no taxes here: Bertazzoni Master Series: A304GGVXENG).

Missing From the Bertazzoni  A304GGVX E Class
The oven temperature dial, a very cool-looking, retro-style gauge on the top facing is missing from this model. This guage contributes to the feel of these ranges. Serious cooks appreciate this feature.

Also missing is the storage drawer.

Overall, the specs look great for all of these models. I personally prefer the T model, with the storage drawer (you can never have enough storage), extra handle and the oven temperature gauge.

Professional Series: Bertazzoni X304GGVX 30″ Gas Range

The Bertazzoni Professional: X304GGVX 30” Pro-Style Gas Range with 4 Sealed Burners, 2.9 cu. ft. European Convection Oven, Manual Clean and Storage Drawer prices at $2,749, no shipping, no tax, free extended warranty from HomeEverthing.

You can purchase the Bertazzoni X304GGVX in four other colors: white, black, red and cranberry. Other than the color options, frankly, I see very little difference between this model and the Bertazzoni Master Series. The primary difference is in the knobs and handle, and the fact that the Bertazzoni X304GGVX does NOT have the oven temperature gauge and it does NOT have the second cooktop level handle.

The Bertazzoni Master T series, however, also has a facing at the bottom, covering up the legs, which gives it a more finished, homey look than the Bertazzoni X304GGVX . It’s priced exactly the same as the Bertazzoni X304GGVX as well.

Functionally, the Bertazzoni X304GGVX and Bertazzoni Masters S and T are exactly the same. Therefore, you should base your decision on which style suits your taste best.

Buy the Master T here: Bertazzoni Master Series: A304GGVXTNG and the Professional here: Bertazzoni X304GGVX.
